Meet Dr Jon Macklin

Jon graduated from Dundee in 1998 and spent several years in hospital medicine before training in Psychiatry in 2004. In 2011 he became a consultant. "I have a strong interest in education and have held various roles, including postgraduate tutor, foundation programme director and honorary senior lecturer at Glasgow University." Jon holds an MRCP and MRCPsych and is on the general and liaison psychiatry specialist register.

Meet Dr nasim Rasul

Having graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1999, Dr Rasul has worked as a psychiatrist in the West of Scotland for over 20 years, with fourteen years at consultant level. Dr Rasul is currently a consultant in NHS Forth Valley, having previously worked for 12 years in NHS Ayrshire and Arran. He specialises in working with older adults and is experienced in the assessment and management of common and severe mental health disorders, including psychosis, depression, anxiety, memory problems and dementia, as well as complex presentations of dementia. His consultant experience has been in the community, inpatient and outpatient settings.

Dr Rasul was born and bred in the UK. He studied medicine at Glasgow University, graduating in 1999. He undertook his psychiatry training in the West of Scotland and has a special interest in medical education. Dr Rasul has been the postgraduate education course director for West of Scotland Psychiatry for the last ten years, working closely with young training doctors in psychiatry, helping shape their educational development. Dr Rasul has been invited to chair and speak at national conferences on subjects including ECT, depression, occupational burnout and capacity issues.
